Big Ambitions FAQ

These are questions players actually ask around the 1.0 build: dates, codes, multiplayer, DLC, price, platforms, and how the first shop starts. Answers stay on first-party limits from Steam, the official site and the living roadmap. Community wikis that list jewelry shops or opening-hours tools are useful elsewhere; they are not copied here as official tables. The Hamptons tennis still is 1.0 lifestyle, not a banner for missing codes. If a question is missing, check the first-shop guide or the version timeline before assuming Hovgaard unpublished it.

What other wikis cover that this one does not

The strongest competitor captures starter, businesses, HQ, warehouses, factories, Workshop, neighbourhoods, banking, achievements, updates and an opening-hours tool. This site keeps every family that has first-party evidence and drops opening-hours, SKU dumps and generic /walkthrough/ slugs. The Hamptons tennis still on this page is 1.0 lifestyle illustration, not a codes banner.

If you need per-item prices, those databases are community-derived. If you need the first shop, business types, or 1.0 patch notes, stay on this domain.

Competitor sitemaps also include SKU dumps and building-by-building databases. Those families were dropped here because Hovgaard has not published a catalogue API. The eighteen business types, seven neighbourhoods, 126 achievements and nine version marks are the sealed sets this FAQ points at.

Frequently asked questions

When did 1.0 ship?
Steam news and the store list the full release as 28 August 2026. Early Access was 10 March 2023. Some editorial clocks print 29 August; the pinned first-party announcement is the 28th. The current version id on this wiki is ba-1-0.
Are there redeem codes?
No first-party redeem-code program is advertised on the official site, Steam news, or pinned socials. There is nothing to redeem on this wiki, and a codes URL is not in the route plan because the evidence is an absence after those channels were checked.
Is there official multiplayer?
The shipped product is tagged Single-player. Multiplayer exists only as a community Steam Workshop mod mentioned in official YouTube comments, not as a first-party mode. Family Sharing and Steam Cloud are store features, not a second player in your shop.
What DLC is announced?
Post-1.0 work is more free updates over several months, then the first DLC. The living roadmap names Let the Good Tides Roll as a free boat update. Studio Insights names the DLC Shanghai versus Huang Guo, after dropping a Costa Del Sol idea. Neither is dated as shipped, and the roadmap PNG says items can be removed.
What does it cost on Steam US, and where can I play?
List price is $25.99 with a 20% introductory offer to $20.79 at capture on the US Steam storefront. Reviews at capture: Very Positive, 12751 of 13792. Platforms: Windows and macOS. Steam Deck ajax reports SteamOSDoesNotSupport. Epic browse returned 403; GOG had no SKU. Steam remains the confirmed storefront.
How does the first shop start?
Uncle Fred gives an apartment and a first job. Sleep, health and happiness matter; 1.0 drains energy faster when hunger and happiness are low. Rent via Voogle Maps buildings-for-rent on Garment District (37 1st Street / 44 5th Avenue), stock the floor, hire staff. Gift shop is the homepage’s named retail start.
Does 1.0 still have negative interest?
No. The 1.0 notes remove negative interest, tighten loan qualification while raising the Vantander maximum, and allow partial loan and tax payments. Late tax is 10% in EconoView. Guides written for Early Access banking do not apply to this edition.
Is jewelry a confirmed shop type?
Community wikis treat jewelry, electronics and hairdresser as playable retail. First-party 0.6 copy names jewelry as a factory output but does not name a jewelry storefront on the official homepage list of eighteen types. This FAQ leaves it observed, not as a nineteenth official row.
