Big Ambitions glossary
These names appear in official UI, Steam notes or store copy. They stay in English in every locale’s term map because they are locked brands and neighbourhoods. Use this page to look up the in-game string, then follow the related route for the system. Uncle Fred’s message video is bound here as first-party character flavour, not as a second copy of the homepage lease photo. Steam’s 22 interface languages still print these strings in English in the captured store API.
Local storefront titles
Steam appdetails for every configured wiki locale returns the title Big Ambitions. Japanese, Polish, Ukrainian, Thai, Vietnamese and Indonesian store API still return the English short description while keeping that title. Thai, Vietnamese and Indonesian are not in Steam’s 22-language interface table.
A community Chinese alias exists in research notes and is not used as officialGameName. This glossary keeps the first-party English strings that the term map locks.
Uncle Fred on video
The official upload pqAf2NLL_r8 is titled as a message from Uncle Fred. It is flavour for the opening helper, bound to this route so the homepage cinematic can stay on 2jr3gMy59sE. Watch it after you know the five-clause lease; it does not replace Voogle Maps.
Phone tray versus locked brands
BizPhone is the tray. Voogle Maps, BizMan, MarketInsider, EconoView and Rivals are the named tools with first-party jobs. MyEmployees, Persona and Contacts are visible on the MarketInsider screenshot without extra patch notes. Speedy Bites and Onyx Luxury Chauffeurs are 1.0 service brands, not phone icons.
Neighbourhood names lock both apostrophe spellings of Hell’s Kitchen in the term map. Garment District, Midtown, Murray Hill, Lower Manhattan, Industry City and The Hamptons are the rest of the seven. Special rivals Ingrid Schneider, Jessica Johnson, Huang Guo and Thierry Laurent Moreau lock as people, not as types.
Startup Company is the adjacent Hovgaard title in the Business Tycoon Bundle. NY Distro Inc is the named Garment District warehouse. Halcyon Fairway and A Racket of Love are Hamptons minigames. Brick Breaker runs on home computers. Keep those strings intact when the site is translated.
- Voogle Maps
- In-game map overlay. Filters include jobs and buildings-for-rent (cinema, office, retail, theater, warehouse, food delivery). Official still is pinned at 37 1st Street, Garment District.
- BizMan
- Business management app. Warehouse screenshot uses Open in BizMan.
- MarketInsider
- Neighbourhood class mix, real-estate prices, events, product demand and import index for all seven districts.
- EconoView
- 1.0 tax panel. Late tax 10%.
- Vantander Bank
- In-game bank. 1.0: no negative interest, stricter loans, larger maximum, partial payments, auto-invest.
- Speedy Bites
- 1.0 food delivery to home or business; the player can also run deliveries.
- Onyx Luxury Chauffeurs
- 1.0 private-driver hire after dropping a vehicle in their garage.

- Opening apartment and first job; 1.0 Hamptons home and golf nemesis Richard.
- Garment District
- Starter neighbourhood. 37 1st Street / 44 5th Avenue. Special rival Ingrid Schneider.
- The Hamptons
- 1.0 seventh neighbourhood: mansions, gated docks, luxury retail, golf, tennis.
- Hell’s Kitchen
- Jessica Johnson’s rival turf; official site names it as a townhouse destination.
- Midtown
- Huang Guo’s rival turf; penthouse destination; later Shanghai DLC host.
- Murray Hill
- Thierry Laurent Moreau’s rival turf in EA 0.5.
- Industry City
- EA 0.9 factory/warehouse neighbourhood with P1–P3 and Q1–Q3 lots.
- Lower Manhattan
- EA 0.5 map add with 100+ buildings, Hudson Wholesale and Essentials Appliances.
- Hovgaard Games
- Developer and publisher of Big Ambitions; also made Startup Company.
- Steam Workshop
- Official from EA 0.11: in-game uploader, sample Unity pack, version-filtered blueprints.
